Did anyone see the report on VA on PBS Now tonight?

One woman sat there and told Maria Inohosa that she couldn't vote for Obama because his mother was an atheist. this woman was going to vote for republicans even if it meant her husband would lose his job - because god would take care of them. (her husband was undecided.)

This white woman was one of the most ignorant people I have ever seen on tv. She is a prime example of what is wrong with this nation. We have millions of people who belong to a cult and who cannot form thoughts that analyze situations based upon the facts at hand.

She is the sort of person who undermines her own existence because of her willful ignorance, racism and religious extremism.

She is the base of the republican party.

It IS a cult. Some of them may never be deprogrammed, but given a breath of fresh air in media, a lot of them can be turned around. Cognitive dissonance is not a comfortable state of being.
