I clicked on the Act Blue link in the diary (and below) 35 minutes ago and he had raised roughly $25,700 since Michele Bachmann's explosion.

I am going to make a donation to Tynkerbell's campaign because Bachmann is a FASCIST and a danger to AMERICA. But I am going to send him a message that I expect him to be a good Democrat and vote to support more family planning and sex education programs as well as to keep Roe v. Wade in place; and to vote for gay rights. If enough of us do that and help him get elected we will have accomplished a great deal toward a more progressive America.

Then we can find another more progressive Dem to replace him if he doesn't get with the program.

Bachmann is the target here.

I'm sorry if my comment offends, but similar ideological purity is what gave us George W. Bush in 2000. Whatever his faults, Al Gore was a much better choice than George Bush but left-of-center purists characterized him as the same as Bush, voted accordingly, and the rest, as they say, is history. Voting is not an idealistic forum, it is a pragmatic exercise; and we are often left with having to make our choice based on the relative qualities of two candidates, rather than absolute criteria matching of one candidate.

And this will likely remain the case until we can get Instant Runoff Voting, a Green Party plank, implemented more broadly. (a lot more broadly)
