Porn charges added to suspect in registrar threat
Wade Williams, the Monroe-area man who was arrested last week for threatening the registrar of voters in Ouachita Parish, now faces charges related to juvenile pornography.
Authorities confirmed Tuesday that Williams, 75, 266 Lake Passman Drive, was charged over the weekend with one count of pornography involving juveniles and was being held at Ouachita Correctional Center without bond.
Deputies went to Williams' residence on a search warrant to look for a shotgun, as Williams had mentioned a shotgun in his threats. In their search, they found more than shotgun — pornography in plain view.
The Northeast Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was called in. Officers reported finding several VHS tapes, DVDs, photographs and other materials believed to contain sexual images of children. A computer and digital camera were seized and were to be reviewed by experts, according to an arrest report.
Williams, who says he is native of the area, is not listed as a registered sex offender in the state even though he was arrested in 1969 in Tennessee for crimes against nature for participating in sex acts with two teenage boys.
