If corporate Amerika hadn't fought wages
If corporate Amerika hadn't fought so hard against a decent wage/salary for a day's work, we wouldn't be faced with the need for a tax plan like Barack's. Now we're facing major defecits and national debt due in a large part to the fact that there is such a growing divide between those of us that actually work for a living and pay taxes and the ownership class that sits on their ass drawing dividends and avoiding taxes through offshoring, loopholes etc. If we were paying taxes on higher wages, it might not have come to this.

So before the aristocrats start to whine too loudly, they need to go to their favorite mirror and take a long hard look at who brought us to this point. Maybe think a little about that "personal responsibility" their ilk likes to tout so much.

Just something to think about ;)

I'm outta here. y'all have a nice evening. :hi:

1. You hit the nail on the head. If the Ameican worker received
nearer to what his labor was actually worth not only would the standard of living in this country be higher, but we wouldn't be faced with this economic crisis.

Why the American public can't understand this basic fact is beyond me. They have been led to believe that the only way to prosper is to give handouts to the upper classes and hope and pray that some of the loot will drip down on them. Usually their hopes go unanswered.

I am of the firm belief that the wealthy class are parasites on the body politic, and hope that under an Obama administration at least some percentage of the population will finally realize this.

3. Personal responsibility? For the rich?
I think they would have to be introduced to the idea gradually...
McCain hasn't grasped the idea at all.

4. my thoughts exactly, plus
we all are not gonna get wealthy. Some of us, through inheritance and hitting the lottery might get close, but for 98% of us, that pull yourself up by your bootstraps and own thirty houses and 19 cars is not in our future.

I've always thought that all of us combined making a decent living would be able to pay our taxes and have the schools and infrastructure we need to survive as a nation. Out of many, One, isn't that supposed to be our motto instead of One over many?

Have a great night.

Peace
