Disabled veteran about to be evicted

Gary Connellis and his family are about to be evicted from their Leavenworth apartment.

In a couple of Front Line blogs this summer, Connellis’ problems obtaining disability benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs were outlined.

Connellis suffered numerous injuries in 2006 while serving in the Army during the war on terror. He received an honorable medical discharge and the VA determined he was 30 percent disabled.

To make a long, complicated story short, Connellis found out additional information about his injuries that the Army hadn’t passed on the VA. He has asked that he be declared 100 percent disabled. He has three different types of arthritis, major back, leg and foot problems, and post traumatic stress disorder.

In Nov. 2007 Connellis applied for temporary pay while waiting on a new determination about his injuries. That was almost a year ago and he is still waiting on that determination — and any temporary pay.

Connellis does receive a monthly tax-free check for $429; that's for his 30 percent disability determination. He is taking classes at the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, and he gets additional VA money to pay for that.

4. Maybe his lender should get some free Advertising
I bet the more this gets out his banker should slide back into his slime hole

Maybe some yellow ribbons on the outside of his bank

Maybe some one should bring it up at his Church (that is if the banker has one)

Or maybe the local paper should also run this
k&r

Support the troops is more than just words or ribbons

Pull their money out if the bank can't see the light

11. First of all, Welcome Home, Mr. Connellis.
Here's a few starting points:

http://www.nchv.org/

http://www.usvetsinc.org/

I'm surprised that finding help is still that difficult. Let me look around a bit to see if I can find some more links.

15. This is so wrong.
Connellis found out additional information about his injuries that the Army hadn’t passed on the VA.

They've kept him waiting for over a year and can't even send him any temporary pay? Our soldiers shouldn't be treated this way. I hope he gets help to keep his home.

First of all the rich thugs used him to fight a war THEY wanted, then injured and stressed the greedy fuckers won't COMPENSATE him and on top of that the land lord is evicting..profits you know..is the excuse.Always life is subordinated to MONEY!!

Everything in this stupid culture of ours is subordinated to fucking MONEY!
It's Ghastly.

Don't ya get it?

The greed based system that we live under is SICK!! It is evil and wrong!! INHUMANE,The monsters at the top are the most evil fuckers of all and IMHO they do not deserve what they have, nor do they deserve to breathe another breath of air,the people directing this war and causing it,they need to be seen as the greedy inhuman monsters they ARE!! And their selfish greed based system for what it is..Trauma inducing control games that HURT people.

Aaargh WAR IS SUCH AN EVIL RACKET!!!

Poor guy.He gets hurt badly in a war started because of some pigs want to dominate and make profit.Denied benefits because of greed!Kicked out of his place for some pigs profits. The tragedy of the majority of us,Expend ability, under the sadistic game of utilitarianism invented by the greedy and justified by blind bean counters.

All the chains of command in this system of exploitation that exist in this society , must be torn apart, dismantled, and negated until the top is FORCED to be accountable to the bottom,in fear.FORCED to hear the wrath of the abused and bite the greedy cruel hands that lead them into war, use them and now DENY them... what they NEED.And this wrath applies to all people subjected to the money greed/control system that traumatizes, not just the vets.
