ATTN COMPUTER GEEKS: Is this the resume of a man who could tamper with electronic voting mach.s???
Didn't mean to be rude or dismissive with my title, just wanted to get some attention from those who understand computers/software/electronic voting machines if this could be a problem.

Don't know if you heard, but this week Time magazine quoted Virginia GOP chief, Keith Frederick as saying that "Obama and Osama bin Laden both had friends who bombed the Pentagon."

He also was trying to intimidate college students from registering by insinutating that they could lose financial aid and other disastorous consquences if they registered to vote at school.

He is also the CEO of a technology company that contracts out to federal, state and local government. I checked out the website and I'm just wondering if this should be of any note or concern as we are still using (although they are being phased out after this election) electronic voting machines.

Here is what his company claims to offer as it services and am wondering if there are any red flags in there. I know, it's not like he's going to advertise fraud, but from what they claim to do, is it possible?

1. From what I understand about Diebold and ES&S, the
only qualification you'd need to be able to manipulate vote tallies is a working knowledge of Excel.

You wouldn't need to be a "computer geek."

(I work in IT security, FWIW)

2. Well adhering to standards is apparently beyond their capabilities.
The site seems to have largely created with an authoring tool, although they have tweaked it a bit. Not conclusive, but hardly inspiring of confidence in an IT company.

Competence is not required, often not even desired, in IT anymore.

They think good enough is good enough.

3. There's no such thing as a resume that qualifies you for fraud.
Somebody with no resume but the right skills could be capable of it, or you could have somebody who sounds very qualified but in a situation like that would be unable to do anything alone.

All that said, I think to tamper with electronic voting machines, you'd need some fairly special access to the things in order to get anything done.

4. Anyone with power and/or money can buy an election in this country.
