CNN worshipping the number deity
They seem to be looking up at "the big board" on Wall Street like it is the sun or the local biggest mountain or vulcano

The number is UP!!! Life is good!! The number is UP!!! The number LOVES US!!!

Oh no

THE NUMBER IS DOWN!!! The number hates us!!! We are not worthy of the number's love!!!!

1. Oh god...please let thy numbers rise like thy rod and thy staff
Or there shall be much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

3. If I remember correctly the Dow Jones make up only the 30 largest
publicly held corporations.

Commercial buying corporations are the corporate media's primary clients, the American People are only customers.

It's all about money with them, this is also why "In God We Trust" is on our money, money is God, in spite of Jesus; purportedly becoming his most violent self by throwing the money changers out of the Temple.

8. If I remember correctly THE DOW IS NOT THE ECONOMY
at least that was the talking point back when Clinton was in office and the Dow was going up

10. I never said they were,

but with the corporate media, they are the economy because the large corporations generally buy their commercials. If your clients can't pay for your product, you would become nervous as well.

The people are separated from the corporate media by the middleman corporations and as such are only customers to be sold a product or down the river, unless you're T-Boone Pickens and can afford network commercials.

When Clinton/Gore were in office the economy didn't matter so much because it was generally good and the people customers were complacent. The corporate media saw this as an opportune time to enable a corporate puppet to power so as to further their dominance over the American People. Thus integrity became the prime issue, because they could camouflage an unknown for the most part Bush's shortcomings, if the election were based on integrity. This is why they spent the better part of two years slandering and libeling Al Gore prior to the selection of 2000, ie; Al Gore claimed to have invented the Internet among many other lies, they knew he did represent the people, because he did champion opening up the Internet for the people.
