Scoop Donates 1 Million Advert Impressions To Greg Palast and Robert F. Kennedy's StealYourVoteBack.Org

Press Release

Stealing candy from supermarkets is small kumaras (similar to potatoes) compared to stealing the White House for a third time. The crooks in America are out to steal something much more valuable than a $2 Whittaker's peanut slab (Hersheys bar) – your vote. And what can you do to combat these vote-nabbing villains? Steal it right back!

Steal Back Your Vote (www.stealbackyourvote.org), the brainchild of reporter Greg Palast and law professor Robert F. Kennedy, puts the power back in the hands of the public with an investigative comic book and accompanying film. Their witty, non-partisan voter guide clarifies six insidious vote fraud tactics and provides seven easy steps each citizen can take to ensure that his or her ballot doesn't end up on the cutting room floor.

The campaign invites voters and activist organizations alike to "join the insurgency."

Scoop, New Zealand's No. 1 independent online news network, has answered the call and jumped onto the bandwagon of revolution.

From October to January, the generous folks at Scoop are donating 5 million advertising impressions – which will reach an estimated audience of 800,000 United States viewers – to the cause of empowering the public to protect their votes, an issue Scoop has been championing for the past six years.

Scoop intends to allocate 20% at least of these, 1 million adverts, to the work of Greg Palast's Investigative Team.

"We are putting some genuine Kiwi elbow grease into www.stealbackyourvote.org right now, but you can be sure as eggs, and right as rain, that Greg and his team will come up with some fantastic new material as soon as the election goes down, and we will be right behind that too", says Scoop Co-Editor and General Manager Alastair Thompson.

"Although we are foreigners we expect eventually Palast's team will notice our generosity and send us the 'sponsor packet' they offer allcomers on their way cool flash landing page - click on the be a sponsor tab."

If you have a blog then you too can be a sponsor, or just download the 24-page, full-color comic book here (link) for a donation of a penny or more. That's right. All it takes to spread the word is one piece of copper (you know, that coin you don't always bother picking up off of the sidewalk when you see it).

Print some copies, throw a party, show your friends! Smuggle it into your briefcase and give your coworkers a laugh along with important information on how to secure their votes.

And finally, says StealBackTheVote.org, voting, "like bowling and love, should never be done alone."

The good people on the election integrity taskforce need your help to rip the lid off of vote fraud. If your organization, massage circle or radio show is interested in helping nab the vote-rustling sumbitches, sign up to sponsor the revolution for free by sending an email to stealbackyourvote@GregPalast.com

4. A wonderful effort, this! Thanks for posting!
Two caveats:

1. We must learn to think past the next election. Say these fuckwad Corpos, with their 'TRADE SECRET' code voting machines, and all their other tricks, decide to let Obama win, for their own nefarious reasons. The SECRET code gives them the power to steal it from Obama--EASILY!--or not. Say they decide not to. What then? All future elections are still in jeopardy. Current Congressional and all other elections are in jeopardy. They could let Obama win, greatly shave his mandate and stick him with a "Blue Dog" Congress (like the present one), so his hands are tied, as to righting the ship of state. Then they inflict us with someone worse than Bush in 2012. We must get rid of these 'TRADE SECRET' code voting systems, and reform our elections, no matter what happens in November.

2. Please, PLEASE, people at Scoop! It's ELECTION FRAUD! Not "vote fraud" (or "voter fraud"). See above: "...to rip the lid off of vote fraud." We are not talking about voters committing fraud--a lying scumbag Bushite meme. "Vote fraud" is too close, as a phrase, to their vote suppression tactic of alleging "voter fraud." And we're not talking about one vote--"vote fraud." We're talking systemic election fraud, that involves suppressing and/or stealing millions of votes. It needs the broader term: Election fraud.

And then we got this nice email from Greg Palast's people....

Dear Scoop

Thank you so much for the donation of the ads - everytime we get support from overseas for our work in American election protection I'm reminded by RFK Jr's quote from an interview we did with him.

The rest of the world wonders, “Why are Americans so crazy, they keep reelecting this guy?” Well the answer is, we don’t! They keep stealing these elections! And they stole it in 2000, they stole it in 2004, and they’re all set up to steal it again!

People in the US often forget how important our elections are to the rest of the world and are surprised when they find out what sort of coverage even our Senate races get in Britain, New Zealand or Russia.

Hell, we can't even get our reports on the US election run anywhere but the UK.

As the internet grows and the world gets smaller maybe we can look forward to a day when these are problems that we don't have to worry about but until then - there's Scoop.co.nz.

Finest Kind,
Zach Roberts
