Today's market performance - is this where the bailout went?

I haven't been on DU today so haven't followed whatever news and discussion went on today about the market move.

But when I heard about it, my first and only thought was that somehow that bailout money went DIRECTLY into the market. I even envisioned a secret weekend meeting of Bush (and McCain on speakerphone, with Rove mediating), with him throwing a tantrum and saying to get that money INTO the market on Monday OR ELSE (or else what?)!!!

Is that possible? Or would the volume indications be able to distinguish something like that? (eg, a few big players vs lots of smaller ones)

Is anyone besides me being this paranoid? Or am I so conditioned from all these years?

2. None of the money's been spent yet...

and the markets going up are just the end of that wave of panic sending them down. It's what markets do.

Relax, we've got a long way to go till things get straightened out.
