Jean Schmidt (R-OH-2) hit by a car...puts race in question. She's fine...
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 10:08 PM by SE_Ohio_Dem
Just reported on the teaser for 11:00 local news here. Not sure of the details yet but...this could be interesting since she held onto her seat in 06 but her fingertips. Victoria Wulsin was close on her tail and has been working the streets non-stop for 2 years. Looks like we might get a new democrat from SE Ohio. More details later.

Sounds like she got hit last Wed night by a hit-and-run driver while she was out jogging on a rural road. Has a couple busted ribs and cracked vertebrae. She was on TV Friday and looked fine but it "caught up with her" while she was visiting Afghanastan. She'll be off her feet for a week or so but should be fine.

22. Headline: Politician Hit by Runaway Karma.
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 10:06 PM by O.M.B.inOhio
One witness reported, "That karma came out of nowhere and just flattened her. Well, not out of nowhere - I saw it coming since 2004. You could tell it was loaded heavy with bad deeds and acts of deception. I don't see how anybody could have survived that... if there's justice in this world."
(End metaphor. I'm not actually wishing her ill. It's our opponents who do that.)

10. We'll know more soon
But if they're putting on a teaser, rather than as a breaking news interruption, she's probably shaken up but okay. At least, that's what I hope.

26. The hit and run happened last week.
She was on her way to Afghanistan when she had extreme pain and was for a time, unconscious. Further tests revealed broken ribs and fractured vertebrae. She's back in Ohio recuperating.

Please Jean, quit running in the dark on Wards Corner and Loveland- Miamiville. You're going to get a fellow Miami Township citizen convicted of vehicular homicide one of these days. Perhaps the law's on your side but where is your common sense? There are no shoulders on these 45 MPH curvy, hilly, unlit roads. You had to know this was going to happen. How many close calls have you had? Many times I have come around the corner, in the dark, to an oncoming car's headlights in my eyes and you and your sister on the white line on the right side. Its rather unnerving and unexpected. Just hope the guy on the left gives me plenty of room. Yes, you live on these roads but how about picking up your sister in the car and driving a half mile to Hearthstone or Miami Trails. You can run endlessly, yet safely in either subdivision. And your neighbors could get to work without fear of killing their Congresswoman and serving 10-20 in Lebanon Correctional.

the vertebral fractures weren't diagnosed sooner. Whole-body CTs should be the norm following traumas like that.
