"I will fight no more forever" - that guy He tried to secede, and tried to leave. We wouldn't let him do either. Really screwed up part of our history.

The way the government has handled oil revenue from Indian lands, they probably would be a lot better off.

3. No. While reservations have some attributes of sovereignty, they are subordinate to the fed gov.

4. A while ago, one tribe tried to abrogate its treaty.
because the US failed to live up to its treaty obligations. I haven't heard anything about it since though. Interesting approach.
