Personally, I don't think he should be allowed anywhere near our caucus. Does anyone think that a super majority is worth tolerating Joe?

There were six of us, my HS buddies, and each one of us had the same tux in different colors. As far as I know all but maybe 2 of the group table photos have been located and destroyed over the years. :)

However with 58 Senate seats, the 2 Republicans from Maine (Collins and Snowe) can be persuaded on some votes.

9. It's doubtful ANYONE would be willing to caucus with Joe in 2009.
Most of the Democrats will reject him for his Vichy triangulation and the GOP will detest him for being associated with a losing campaign ... and because his 'loyalty' cannot be trusted. Let's remember that the (authoritarian) GOP rates 'loyalty' as the highest "virtue." McCain and Lieberman will be a stink in the Senate.

11. We already have #60: Bernie Sanders
He may be independent--more lefty than the Dems--but he caucuses with the Dems, so LIEberman is irrelevant.

12. He's Irrelevant At Anything Over 50.
The only real fear has been how he caucuses, making sure we are considered the majority. That's why we cater to him. If we have more than 50 on our own, we don't need him caucusing with us. Regardless of how he caucuses, his vote is his vote anyway. That vote of his won't change whether or not we have 52 or 59 or otherwise. Over 50, then fuck Joe.

If Reid is in charge, you can bet your ass he'll claim Lieberman's vote means the agenda must be 100% corporate/Republican.

33. No. For anything that is worth it Dems can snag a moderate Repub. if Joe wants to sulk.
There are going to be a lot of Republicans who will want to be cooperative in a 59 seat Dem Senate with a Dem President. No need to suck up to Traitor Joe .

35. To start with
a supermajority with Joe is laughable.
A supermajority is ONLY as good as the way they vote.
Besides...a few weeks ago Joe said he was considering moving to the republican party. If HE is the ONE democrat that would cause us to have a supermajority in the first place...to depend on Joe to stick with the party is laughable.
