Been in McCain-Palin country since Friday...
haven't seen news.

There was a sea of their signs in southern Alabama (no surprise there). Even one which read "President McCain? How d'ya like that, Hanoi Jane?"

Updates of real news and DUers' summaries are most welcome!

:)

1. You were in an alternate universe. We keep reading of many many Obama
signs, very few McCain.

I think the feeling is if we don't become complacent, keep up the hard work, GOTV and be vigilant about any voting shenanigans, we're going to pull this off.

And I gotta wonder how old the sign owner was -- I bet there are millions of people who wouldn't get the Hanoi Jane reference.

Welcome back!

5. So true about the Hanoi Jane comment...
this area is near an Army base. Ft. Rucker, where they train helicopter pilots.

I wasn't surprised, but I did feel cut off from "my" world.

Seriously, nothing of interest news wise?

I'm perusing here, but so much changes in a matter of hours, let alone days, that I'm afraid I missed something HUGH!!!! LOL

2. Hey, no worries. I'm a socialist and live next door in Mississippi.
It IS a different country here. It's almost like the US is several different countries if you've been living in different regions of the country and compare and contrast the regions.

6. It's amazing, isn't it?
And such differences sometimes from county to county within the same state.

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone in the last eight years. Very odd....

3. Where were you in southern Alabama?
I grew up in Clarke County. Were you near there?

7. Clarke County is above Mobile County near the Mississippi
border.

I don't usually talk politics with Alabama friends but I did with one person that I thought would be open to the Dems. Unfortunately, she was for McCain, something that truly depressed me. On the other hand, it would be hard for her if she were openly Dem because so many of her neighbors are Republican.
