Remember when Paulson was clamoring for a
quick adoption of the "bailout/rescue" legislation? Well, oops, it might have been a costly start in the wrong direction.

Not only that, but there is a fair amount of criticism of the failure to bail out Lehman Brothers by a number of economists/financial wizards. See www.timesonline.co.uk

From The TimesOctober 11, 2008

Lehman Brothers demise triggers huge default

Ironically, while our financial leaders have been stomping about in the mud fields in their tasselled loafers, time is awasting and we have a lameduck president musing about how he's glad this is happening while he is president.

Soros is right. It can't be too soon that we run these rascals out. Their decisions are as ill-informed, it seems, as the Republicans' vice presidential candidate.

1. There is more to come from Paulson.
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 10:45 PM by James Quillian
I will be surprised if the following doesn't happen.
There will be a change of plans. As the public becomes less startled by the government tampering with financial markets, Paulson will find it necessary to use much of the 700 billion to put in supporting bids under stock prices. Count on it.
It will be explained to the taxpayers that the government is investing on their behalf...........

2. Before the bailout, the entire regime's hair was on fire.
Now that it's passed, they're all about "this will take time, there are no quick fixes." As with everything else bu$hco has blessed us with, something smells awfully funny.

4. Junkies are often like that
As the pain of cold turkey sets in, they're panicky and increasingly so as the minutes go by. Then they make their connection, and suddenly they're very calm. Oh yeah, and they'll quit tomorrow. Or surely the day after that.
