Lotta investors are requesting back cash, so they're pulling their positions. They've been dumping all week.

A run on hedge funds 2 weeks ago that caused them to start unloading equities is what started this. The past few days have just been panic feeding on itself.

The Dow still has a little way left to fall, IMO, but if we're lucky, the panicky types are out and the drop will be more gradual.
