ex-SNL Victoria Jackson. Never knew she was a raving, ignorant fundamentalist
In the 10456th anti-Obama 2 Minute Hate of the day over at FReeperland, someone cited her website. I was like "no, it can't be that Victoria Jackson", I used to love her on SNL back in the 90's. Alas;

Why am I voting for the fantastic McCain/Palin ticket? Simply because my "world view" is based on the belief that The Bible is the inerrant, holy, Word of God, and the Republican stance on abortion, marriage, government control, taxes, education, health care, charity, military, defense, democracy and freedom - lines up closest with the Bible's message.

:puke:

Whoever Obama's paying to help him appear to be a Christian, to win the Evangelical vote...is doing a terrible job. He should ask me for a few pointers. First of all, "obscure reference in Romans" is a dead give away that he's never cracked a Bible. "Evangelicals" love Romans. They have it practically memorized. -"obscure reference in Zephaniah" might have been more appropriate. And, Obama, when you say things like, "Sin is...being out of alignment with my values." That is a blaring siren of Biblical ignorance. The Bible says, "Sin is being out of alignment with God's values." That's like the number one lesson in every book of the Bible. You really need some help. Your statements are New Age, relativist, & humanist. Basically, they are textbook comments that go back to the first sin in the Garden of Eden, when the serpent lied and told Adam and Eve that they could be equal with God. (Read the book "When the World Will Be As One") "New Age" is the oldest false religion. It is a lie. And as for your "church" or Rev. Wright, Evangelicals think it's a sad cartoon. Obama, call me. I'll explain Christianity to you.

:puke: :puke:

My country isn't the way it used to be when I grew up, and I miss it so much. I contribute this directly to a rapid decline in Bible teaching resulting in the break up of the family unit, the anchor of a society. It makes me sad, but I have hope because of God's unending forgiveness and his promise in II Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land."

1. Guess she wasn't just pretending to be an idiot all those years.

Oh and this is good... she offers to "explain" Christianity to Obama, then says that crap about being humble.

2. She left SNL and married a cop - though I don't know if the marriage worked out
But since she and Dennis Miller were always slobbering over each other, it doesn't totally surprise me.

3. I wonder if that Sorkin series based the blonde character on her...
Can't remember what it was called, but it was about people who put on a show much like SNL. There was a character who was religious to the point where it got in the way of her love relationship.

7. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
It was a GREAT show and I was very disappointed when it was canceled. Imagine the statements it could be making NOW if it were still airing!

That makes me tear up. How hateful. Disparages millions of people who thought they were humans by trying to attain to something higher - higher than stuck hate and smears and condemnatons.

8. Acts, chapter 1:
“Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us— 22 beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.” 23 So they put forward two men, Joseph called Barsabbas (who was also called Justus), and Matthias. 24 And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen 25 to occupy this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” 26 And they drew lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was added to the eleven apostles. 26.5And the lots, which were designed by Diebold of Cessarea, were quickly spirited away.

6. Never liked her
She's probably the least talented cast member ever, and that includes the lost season between when the last of the original cast left and Ebersole took over. Now I can dislike her politics, too.

13. She came to a Tulsa comedy club in the late 90s
I went to see her. She reigned in the nuttiness, but from some of the stories, you realized she was a little on the religiously nutty side. She expressed her love of Oral Roberts University and even showed a picture of her doing a handstand in front of the giant praying hands statue on the campus.

I think she was underused on SNL, but it may have been because her religious views kept her from writing really biting comedy. I did love her singing of, "I Am Not a Bimbo," on Weekend Update.

16. She grew up Fundy. Total brainwashing from the crib onward.
Alice Miller, who studies the connection between child-rearing and social behavior, calls it "Poisonous Pedagogy".

I actually do think VJ is talented (I first saw her on Carson and she was incredible) but her religion has twisted her, as it twists all such victim/persecutors.
