The neo cons conspired to create this disaster, & that's no theory.
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 08:29 AM by Philosoraptor
They are behind all of the disasters of the last 8 years, the stolen elections, the terror attack they chose not to warn us about and chose not to prevent, the exploitation of that disaster, and two wars after that, the 3000 dead on nine eleven, the 4000 dead soldiers, the million dead Iraqis, the death of our economy, the death of the Constitution and the deaths of Habeas Corpus and the Geneva Convention, THEY CONSPIRED TO CREATE ALL THESE DISASTERS.

And this is NOT some crackpot theory, this is a real case of a small group of insane assholes conspiring AGAINST you and I.

I am now ready to be called a lot of nasty names.

9. No Nasty Names. I Just Disagree
I think it was a combination of folks who thought they knew all the answers, and another group of folks who just didn't care about consequences as long as they got what they wanted.

I just don't accept that they knew any of this would happen. They thought they had a great "plan" but because they aren't as smart as they think they are, it all fell apart.

you're saying this is no conspiracy theory? But don't you know that's not allowed? That some people are put off by the term? Don't you care that you may be hurting their feelings? What newly-morphed kind of terrorist have you become? Why do you hate America?

We must give bushco whatever they want or we are all doomed! Even tho we may now BE doomed there is still a chance bushco will save us, keep hope alive! Donate! Go shopping goddamnit!

They didn't even bother to conspire in secret, did they? Their announced intention was to "drown it (the US government) in the bathtub."

20. I know. I was being facetious. When I was warning of this coming
collapse, I was laffed at and ridiculed and so was everyone else that was predicting this would happen. Just like those who warn about peak oil are ridiculed. I guess whenever that has us by the throat, people here will talk about it as if no one ever warned them just like they're doing now.

14. I've read the "Shock Doctrine"
Creating disasters is part and parcel to their M.O.

People can call it a "bullshit conspiracy theory" all they want in the absence of proof, but the pattern has repeated itself over and over. If it is coincidence, it is a hell of a coincidence.

15. This isn't a failure
as the MSM would have you believe. The details weren't planned, but the broad strokes were. Greg Palast predicted it -- word for freaking word -- in The Best Democracy Money Can Buy. Charles Reich laid it all out 13 years ago in Opposing the System, a book that most people ignored, but is worth reading even today.

You can look it up.

Anyone who says it's a "conspiracy theory" is part of the problem and not worth paying any attention to. It's a conspiracy pure and simple.

17. there is a ton of information here..
if you want to try to understand the history and ideology...a few years back, a friend told me that ben wattenberg and wolfowitz et al had always been registered democrats..with trotsky and marxist ideological underpinnings...couldn't grasp the idea...neocons and trotsky?..from wikipedia..

The neoconservative desire to spread democracy abroad has been likened to the Trotskyist theory of permanent revolution. Lind argues that the neoconservatives are influenced by the thought of former Trotskyists such as James Burnham and Max Shachtman, who argued that "the United States and similar societies are dominated by a decadent, postbourgeois 'new class.'" He sees the neoconservative concept of "global democratic revolution" as deriving from the Trotskyist Fourth International's "vision of permanent revolution." He also points to what he sees as the Marxist origin of "the economic determinist idea that liberal democracy is an epiphenomenon of capitalism," which he describes as "Marxism with entrepreneurs substituted for proletarians as the heroic subjects of history."

but these past few weeks, as the govt is stepping in to nationalize banks..I've been thinking about the ideology of the neocons..

I don't understand what is going on..but I have followed the links on this wikipedia article.and recognize that whatever is going on has been in play for a long time...

That makes soooo much sense.

Look, never ascribe to malice what can be attributed to incompetence. This... was incompetence. Do you think Bush WANTED to end his career like this?!

29. I completely agree with you.
Bush chose asset devaluation because the alternative was dollar devaluation and a weakened US. The high cost of his illegal wars was dragging down the dollar. Since oil is sold in dollars, the weaker dollar resulted in higher oil prices. This resulted in increased ME and Russian oil wealth and we were trapped in a vicious circle. The more we spent on ME wars, the richer and more powerful our enemies became. I think the Russian intervention in Georgia was the final straw. Bush made the decision to bring down the markets in order to torpedo commodity prices and thereby ruin the resurgent Russian economy. You may have noticed that the dollar has been strengthening with this crisis. It is no accident.

The thing is, absent Bush's ill-conceived, preemptive wars, the world would be much richer and safer place.
