Poor AIG....Publicly humiliated into canceling its big party at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, CA
 :nopity:

for ThinkProgress:

AIG cancels post-bailout party in California, says it will have no more.»

Earlier this week, the House Oversight Committee revealed that just one week receiving an $85 billion bailout, AIG executives went on a retreat to a luxury resort, spending nearly $500,000 on manicures, facials, pedicures, and massages, among other things. After being ridiculed for the vacation, AIG announced today that the parties are over. From an announcement they issued this afternoon:

Earlier today, AIG announced an important policy change - one that we wanted to be sure you knew about. A short time ago, our Chairman and CEO Ed Liddy said that he has ordered the immediate cancellation of all outside meetings, conferences, and recognition events across AIG, except those that are required by law or that are deemed absolutely critical to sustain our ongoing business needs.

Today, AIG canceled a specific party, originally scheduled for next week at the Ritz-Carlton in California’s Half Moon Bay, “after a re- evaluation of the costs under the new circumstances,” according to spokesman Joe Norton.

2. More evidence these higher-ups aren't worth a shit.
If they had half a brain, they would have realized the backlash of such events before the backlash actually occurred.

What a bunch of dipshits. Why do they get paid millions, again? They run their companies into the ground, and then they can't even predict the outcry that would result from something like this?

Useless scumbags.

5. Dickheads Just Don't Get It Do They!!!!
It really is simple common sense here people. The corporation has been bailed out, no more bonuses for incompetent management or any other extraneous activities. It used to be when a company was not doing well all paid the price, but nowadays the executives still spend lavishly while the workers either get laid off or lose wages and/or their pensions. What the fuck is so hard to understand about that and why aren't all Americans truly outraged by this behavior. I know I am!

look BEFORE it hit the news?? If they had half the brains they are supposed to possess that would have been the first thing they did after their FIRST bailout.

8. The comments on AIG on the SNL special a while ago were a riot - as to AIG saying that
they had 'already scheduled the retreat before the bailout', Amy Poehler said 'that's like still holding a birthday party for your grandmother when she died 3 days ago!'. :^)
