2. A possible bad political decision made by the team owner.

3. John Kerry threw out the first pitch during the 2004 convention
at a Yankees/Red Sox Game. I'm sure there were some Republicans that weren't too pleased by that, either. Do you think he should have been prohibited from doing so?

Of all the terrible things about Palin, I really can't get worked up by this. Plus, I think the Philly fans will boo her.

10. Yes, in 2 states that were extremely blue PLUS Kerry is from Massachusetts
Pennsylvania is clearly a red state AND Palin is not from Pennsylvania or the surrounding states that regularly attend Flyers games - New Jersey or Delaware.

This would have made more sense if Joe Biden did it since he lives in the Philadelphia Metro area.

13. I'm just saying - you can't have it both ways, really
I don't have a problem with either of them doing this. It's a ceremonial thing that politicans do and someone's always going to be bugged.

I'd rather focus on something else.

15. Ed Snider has a host of local politicians he could have chosen from
Kerry is from Boston, the Red Sox are from Boston. That's a big difference between a team from Philadelphia using a woman from Alaska and not just for any game but the first game of the season.

17. BS, there's a difference between giving jerseys and dubbing Skanky Palin America's "hockey mom"
That is just WRONG and an insult to all us DEMOCRATIC "hockey moms"

Cheap ass political stunt. What's next? Todd being named "Joe Six Pack" by Coors Beer?!?

19. Well they better not dub her THAT
I STRONGLY object to her being called America's Hockey Mom.

In fact, I don't think she's exactly the best ambassador for hockey and her association with it pisses me off. I've just become inured to people I don't like opening events.

4. I'm from Philly. some of the most racist people I ever met live there.
Also, some of the nicest people. The evil ones are just more vocal.

5. Don't blame the players.
You can still be a great fan and not support the team financially by going to games or buying merchandise. How many owners in all sports are Repubs? If you disown them all you'll have to take up knitting on the weekends. :)

8. That is one of the stupidest marketing moves I have EVER seen
I would NEVER have anything but an incumbent politician do that.

NEVER a candidate. You're bound to piss off half your fans.

9. Become a Red Wings fan...
Their management is pro-Obama and they actually win championships.

16. They're going to tear her a new one.
I think they're going to be sorry they asked.

BTW, I was watching the last game of the Stanley Cup in a bar last summer, and after the Wings won, I went to buy a round of champagne for my table. I told the guy sitting at the bar I'd take care of him too, and buy him a drink! He turned out to be a Flyers' fan, and was very happy to toast to the defeat of the Penguins.

Didn't realize you were a hockey fan.
