What's the difference between mccain's crowds & Obama's crowds?
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 06:41 AM by Philosoraptor
The stark visual difference is the first thing you notice, mccain's crowds at his rallies are almost exclusively 100% white, and the people at Obama's rallies are a mix of all Americans, all colors, all creeds, all classes. This is also the standard for the Democratic and repub parties themselves.

Also, mccain's crowds, like all repub crowds, are full of angry people, and lately they've been getting quite rabid, which should send a chill down every American's spine.

Just look at any photos of any recent repub rallies and it looks like a scene from Blazing Saddles, where everybody is named Johnson. Look at any Democratic rally and you see Americans of all stripes. This stark difference is often left unmentioned, but it's impossible to not see it.

1. McCain crowds are unified by their hate and fear of others
Obama crowds are united by their faith and optimism in each other.

2. Notice? It's hard to miss!

The McCain cult is out for blood! Obama needs to keep his itinerary secret (like he's been doing) until the last possible minute. That stupid reporter who complained that the press never gets a full schedule way before hand for Obama--is the reporter too dumb to realize WHY?

McCain attracts rabid psychologically unbalanced white supremacists. Palin's crowd is whipped into a racist frenzy. They should be held to blame if one of their minion goes off.

5. Strongsville, OH (one of Cleveland's most well-to-do suburbs) yesterday . . .

Hicks and upper middle-class white suburbanites afraid of catching teh blaaaaaack band together . . . just this once.

Isn't it funny about these suburbanite dopes? It's really all about the Alaskan Fruit Loop. Nobody wants McCain. The only reason he's the nominee is because he sucked the least out of all of them. Speaks volumes for Pukes, doesn't it?

AAAUUUUGGHGHHHH!! Brady Quinn is a REPUKE? Oh well, the infinitely cooler and more talented LeBron James is an Obama supporter, so :P

Yep . . . not a single non-caucasian to be found. Lots of suits, I notice. Probably skeert that they're going to have to start paying their fair share. Then again, I doubt any of these guys make over $250,000 per year, so what the shit are they worried about?

John McCain attempts to raise his arms . . . and forgets that he cannot. OH WAIT, THERE'S AN AFRICAN AMERICAN . . . er . . . sorry, he's security.

13. Y'know, I'll bet you 2/3 of the stores in that shopping mall are shuttered and empty, too
Visiting Ohio is a sad experience.

15. That's South Park Mall.
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 07:18 AM by HughBeaumont
That particular mall has a lot of high-end stores and it's one of the few malls in NE Ohio that's actually not doing too bad. And then there's Great Northern Mall in North Olmstead, which also has medium sized crowds.

All other malls surrounding them, however . . . look like abandonded flea markets. Especially Randall Park Mall, which I'm surprised hasn't been bulldozed yet. Going in there is literally like venturing into a scary moth-ball-smelling cave.

28. Thinking about Southpark
every show has to have at lease one "token". Since he is security, I don't think any redneck in the crowd would say anything mean to him...just to the cameramen.

Also... after the speech... who do you think they get to clean up the mess they left behind :sarcasm:

6. Generation Gap
I'll bet half the crowd at a Gramp rally is over 50...and the other half are their kids and grandkids who had to be there. The GOOP lives in a world of the past...still fighting the "culture wars of the 60's" (despite a growing number of the electorate who weren't even alive then)...a stereotype that has been exagerated over the years. These people believe in a world of absolutes and simple solutions to all problems. It's a simplistic worldview that has led to many of the messes we're currently in...as well as a social agenda that is based on exclusion and privilidge.

I've been very proud of the work the Obama campaign along with the DNC has done in organizing and energizing a new generation of voters and Democrats. Through the years in the political wilderness, Democrats have learened a very valuable lesson about coalition building and mobilizing and organizing. Here's hopes we're on the verge of a big victory and the dawn of a new Progressive Era in this country.

"Sit down, boy"
John Aravosis (DC) · 10/07/2008 12:14:00 PM ET ·

Coming on the heels of John McCain whipping up a crowd of supporters who called Obama a "terrorist," and Sarah Palin getting her audience to yell "Kill him!" (apparently about Obama), we now find out that Sarah Palin's mob of supporters yesterday turned on a black journalist and yelled "racial epithets" at him while telling him to "sit down, boy."

From the Washington Post:
Worse, Palin's routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her "less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media." At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, "Sit down, boy."
Need any more proof of the divisiveness and elitism that John McCain and Sarah Palin are bringing to our country? Imagine, whipping up a crowd to hate "the other." Any surprise that Palin and McCain have so many ties to anti-Semites?

That's one difference I don't like. I sure hope there are enough of them.

I sure hope they have a lot of plain clothes secret service people there.
