Rock slide prompts evacuation of Curry Village at Yosemite
The Curry Village resort in Yosemite National Park was evacuated today after the second rock slide in two days destroyed seven cabins, knocked down trees and sent a plume of dust hundreds of feet into the air.

Three visitors suffered cuts and other minor injuries, a park spokeswoman said.

All occupants of the more than 600 tent and wooden cabins and a small, hotel-style building at Curry Village were ordered out as a precaution, and trails in the area have been closed, Yosemite officials said. The rest of the park is operating normally.

The slide occurred shortly before 7 a.m., sending an estimated 1,800 cubic yards of debris - equal to about 200 dump-truck loads - into the area near the village amphitheater and cafeteria, park spokeswoman Adrienne Freeman said. Two wooden cabins and five tent cabins were destroyed.

I've been in the tents and cabins before. I like good ole Curry Village.
