Amy Goodman got herself arrested last month. Apparently she was unaware that during Political conventions, one can get arrested.

She is now all "Martial law is coming, Martial law is coming."

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I have had too many personal calamities to worry about that - I figure when they bust in my door and haul my sorry ass away, at least I might end up getting one meal a day.
<Some sarcasm intended.>

But never did Goodman claim on the air that the election was stolen. It wasn't until the summer of 2006, when Robert Kennedy Jr went out on a limb and got his Stolen Election article covered in Rolling Stone that a large news organization gave the issue publicity. Of course, by 2006, it was a little bit late to be discussing this.

Before the 2004 election and in its immediate aftermath, she left the heavy lifting to people like Bob Fitrakis and to little publications like the one I wrote for, "The Coastal Post" of Marin County CA.

So thank you so much, Ms Goodman. Thanks! Too bad it didn't dawn on you several years ago that having a free society and discussing important topics like election theft are interconnected.

Than to Amy Goodman. At least in the direct aftermath - that is December 2004 and January 2005.

She was very good at saying, "There was this discrepancy here, and that discepancy there." But she was very reluctant to come out and STATE:

The Election was stolen.

5. As mixed as my feelings are on Goodman
She was always front and center when the GOP stole another election - Greg Palast has always made a point to contact her as one of the firsts, since she is one of the few reporters who even brings it up

That having been said, Goodman has become a bit paranoid as of late

BUT YET AGAIN..."Just because I know I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they're still not out to get me..." Phillip K. Dick

11. Even if true, the body of her work doesn't seem to warrant the tone of the attack.
She has been one of the few voices that is uncompromising. So much so, that she can't booked onto mainstream shows because she's considered too 'shrill'. And this is the person to go after?

15. Not sure what you're talking about...
October 2004: Making Votes Count: Is a Theft of the 2004 Election Already Underway?

We speak with New York Times editorial writer Adam Cohen about voter suppression and fraud in the 2004 election. From U.S. soldiers being told to use non-secret ballots to the Pentagon counting the votes of the military and U.S. citizens living abroad. From partisan secretaries of state overseeing the election to Homeland Security preventing new U.S. citizens from registering and much more.

16. I am trying to say that in the aftermath - IMMEDIATE - aftermath
Of the largest election theft in our history, Amy Goodman was silent - as far as painting the big picture.

Even looking over your careful listing of the dates - you have her using the word "theft" prior to the election, back in July 26 th 2004, and then the word theft doesn't get back into her vocabulary probably until sometime in the fall of 2005.

Randi Rhoades was much more strident.

My beef is that this was the election burglary of the century, and although Goodman would speak about individual occurrences - voting suppresion here, voting machine discrepancies there, she refused to make the statement "The election was stolen," at least not until close to the one year mark (Fall and early winter 2005)

And yes, if you google Amy Goodman and stolen election - you get a lot of hits. If you investigate those hits on google, you will see things like an archiving of 'Counterpunch' articles wherein Wasserman or Fitrakis have an article reported in spring of 2005, and their article is next to one of Goodman's on say, the Palestinian issue.

17. My "careful listing" LOL
I did a quick search on the DN site. Took about 10 minutes (most of that spent cutting and pasting). "Fast and sweeping listing" is more accurate.

You've obviously got some ax to grind with Amy Goodman. I like Amy Goodman, but I know she has flaws...so grind away. To what end, I'm not clear, nor do I particularly care. I just wanted to show that she had indeed addressed concerns about the potential for theft leading up to the election and she's covered it since.

My time can be better spent doing other things...same could be said for your ax grinding, imo.
