When you're close to retirement, this is like watching your life end.

is a great way to keep all those baby boomers from retiring. Remember that looming labor shortage? Problem solved! This ought to be a great recruiting tool too.

2. or retired with money still in.
People who have sacrificed responsibly for years to accumulate savings are watching all the work and sacrifice disappear when they are nearing the point in their life when they are most vulnerable.

10. The economists are saying 5-10 years - if you haven't retired they say don't.
Do what you can to stay employed and hold on to your job.

6. Just as he predicted...
"My friends, we are not going to be able to provide the same benefit for present-day workers that present-day retirees have today," - John McCain

He's already willing to allow the American worker, who he praises at every opportunity, to take yet another hit for the team. As long as the bankers and brokers continue to party on life is good.

I'm about seven years away from retirement and it looks like it will never happen. My family history is of men who work every day till they drop. I was the first one with a legitimate shot at retirement. At least I'll be in good company.

7. it's up now because of the interest rate cute, but like all cuts in the past...
and because of our systemic wide problems, it will go down again. it's only a temporary fix.

8. It's up now
It would be nice to have a day in the black for a change. It'll help give me the illusion that I'll be able to retire someday.
