Apparently they like to hear a politian explain his policies not just say they will change things without giving a plan to achieve that change.

If only they could vote over here!

3. Maybe that's because
we noticed long long ago the really irritating habit that some politicians have of making a speech rather than answering a question. Our TV interviewers are aware of this and don't hesitate to plague the person being questioned with " answer the question" Palin wouldn't stand a chance here.

In addition we get almost weekly live debates late at night on BBC in the form of David Dimbleby's Question night with politicians on the panel getting unannounced questions from a live audience. I found this comment on a blog -

I was wondering what peoples views on Mr Dimbleby as host of Question Time were? In the past i've been a fan of his as he seemed to keep the debates running smoothly and know exactly when to stop someone from ranting on. But lately i've been noticing that he seems far more bitter towards panelists, interrupts more often, and is generally making the show less watchable than it has been in previous years. Is this something that anyone else has noticed - or am I just hitting a midlife crisis twenty years too early?

That blog actually conveys Dimbleby's irritation with/to our own.
