3. Heh
I remember when Pelosi was bitching that people were on her lawn demanding that she stop the war.

I guess she needs razorwire fences and guard towers

2. In their gated communities full of Blackwater Mercs?
Most people won't take those odds. On the other hand, they have to get their food from somewhere, and I'm more than happy to raid for cake and brandy.

5. And here we thought all along...
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 01:12 PM by TwoSparkles
...that the Patriot Act, suspension of Habeas Corpus, illegal wiretapping, the ability to
declare protesters "enemy combatants" and our own Army being stationed for duty in the US-was
about another terrorist attack.

While we were blogging and pondering the next terrorist act, they were springing an economic
trap for all of us--that is now imploding.

The unsustainable housing bubble and the unsustainable credit bubble--that has kept the
economy propped up on fake money---were deliberate devices. They allowed Bush to
look like he was at the helm during economic prosperity. Really, it was all smoke and mirrors
that they knew would come crashing down--right after they vacated the White House.

I knew the economy was unsustainable, but I didn't realize just how orchestrated this economic
bomb really was. I just read that Bank of America has cut off credit to the lower 60 percent
of people who have a Bank of America card. If you've got bad credit (not just late payments,
bad credit in general) or if they now decide that you're not credit-worthy--no more credit
card for you.

Look for other credit card companies to do this to many who are hanging on by their fingernails, and using
their cards to put food on the table and gas in the tank. I'm sure, if we look at the fine print
on the credit-card statements, it clearly says that they can do this to you. Can't say we weren't
told, right? Ahhh...the neocons. So clever, those assholes!

We're in for an unprecedented economic shit storm. That's why they slowly took away our civil rights
and have surrounded us with Naziesque behavioral controls (you protest, you can be ushered away and
detained indefinitely--and even tortured).

Nice knowing ya America!

6. Yup
Lots of us did what we could, but I suppose it was all inevitable. The plan was in place before Bush even started running for president.

Thanks for posting about the credit cards- I knew that was the next shoe to drop, but I didn't know quite how it was going to play out.

8. If you sit down and think about what they did...
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 01:23 PM by TwoSparkles
...it's almost like your brain twists in a knot.

I mean, didn't all of us sit around wondering: How can these credit-card companies give a $5,000 line
of credit to an 18-year old college student? How can someone making $14,000 a year have six credit
cards? How is it possible that someone with $10,000 on a credit card, only has to make a $78 payment
every month?

It all stunk to high heaven. They lured us all in like little lemmings. That made rampant consumerism
en vogue. You weren't somebody, unless you were living beyond your means--with two $50,000 SUVs in the
driveway and a large house.

After Sept 11, when Bush told us to "go shopping" he wasn't kidding.

This has all been orchestrated to bring down the economy. "Economic Shock" as Naomi Klein has coined. People
are maxed out on those cards. If they aren't maxed out, they're trying to pay them off or they've been
terrified into savings mode. And now, it looks like--the lower half will be cut off from that easily-obtained
credit.

The masses are more easily controlled when they are destitute. That's what they're banking on.

When I envision the devastation that this will bring--it's hard to comprehend. I hope I'm wrong.

10. other way around I think
You said "the masses are more easily controlled when they are destitute." I think it is the other way around. The masses are more easily made destitute when they can be controlled. The transfer of wealth from the people into the hands of the few is the goal, not the method.

We are being controlled so we can be fleeced, we aren't being fleeced so we can be controlled.
