One thing that always does very well during hard times... Beer
McCain's wife stands to do very well in the upcoming years...Beer does not need to go up much in price because they always sell much more than during happier times.."Beer ~ it's not just for breakfast anymore"

7. "I should have invested in Budweiser" conversation with a Wall Streeter
This happened several years ago during the telecom meltdown. I was in a Soho bar after work and got into a conversation with a Wall St guy. We started talking about the horrible market at that time.

He said he had lost a lot in telecoms and should have invested in Budweiser. I asked him if he meant that consumer goods do well in a recession.

He said, no, if he had invested that few thousand in cases and cases of bud, had drunk the beer and turned in the cans for 5 cents each, he would have done better than his telecom stocks!

8. My dad's first love was politics. When it came time to become a lobbyist so he could
support his family he had a choice. Lobby for the trucking industry or the beer industry. He decided that if there was a recession he would feel too guilty try to hock beer. So he picked trucking.
