still believe these are times of politics as usual, as far as playing the game in order to get elected and THEN do the right thing?
It's not a snark question, it's a serious question, from someone who is NOT a political operative/strategist and from someone who dislikes the game it has become. Not that anyone likes it, but some accept the necessity of the "game" aspect more than others.
There's no contest between Obama and McCain as far as the course of this country.
Yet, I'm feeling the times are so extraordinary -- with fascism seeming to essentially be in place, no longer looming (see Naomi Wolf video: Give Me Libert,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XgkeTanCGI) -- that it's time for Obama to, in his very calm, direct, intelligent, even wise manner, call out the corruption and manipulation at the highest levels of government. Call it out clearly, not in a nuanced fashion. Call it out so clearly that if something were to happen to him or his candidacy, people couldn't help but tie the two together.
Waiting to take office, or even until November 4th, may be too late.
Isn't there enough information out there now, accompanied by justifiable alarmist concern, that the purveyors of truth finally have just as much a chance of being heard as the political terrorists such as Bushco and their allies?
It doesn't seem to be a time for politics as usual. I'm not talking "taking off the gloves" type of "strategy."
I'm talking press conference to reveal crimes against the Constitution in no uncertain terms. Call out Pelosi and Reid and others as being complicit if need be. If Obama is a man of integrity -- and I do believe he is -- this isn't a time for politics as usual. People are finally waking up and paying attention, and they're frightened.
Yes, I realize this is naive on my part, but I also believe wholeheartedly that truth and transparency are in a prime position to take the spotlight. Finally. Not just talking about truth and transparency, but acting on it.
(edited because I'm a dumbass and can't type lately...lol)
