Our voter registration system SUCKS!

Why do we have to go through the turmoil of getting people registered? I think when you are born, you have just earned the right to vote when you turn 18 and you should not have to register. EVER.

maybe have a change-of-address thing you need to do, if you want to vote in a different precinct, but other than that it should be automatic

...theoretically, their registration could be updated as a result, but it's not.

having to drum up armies of volunteers to corral people in shopping centers prior to an election to get them to register...

This is absurd.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think any other country in the world does it this way.
