I can't believe the Republicans are sticking with this policy.
One of only two disappointments for me regarding the Biden/Palin debate was that Joe didn't take the opportunity to hammer away at their economic plan using their own words.
When Palin bragged, "(As Mayor) I eliminated personal property taxes and eliminated small business inventory taxes and as governor we suspended our state fuel tax. We did all of those things knowing that that is how our economy would be heated up," it would have been excellent if Biden had been able to say, "Yes, you reduced taxes, left Wasilla in debt, and cut services so that now women who have been victims of rape have to pay for their own rape kits and hospital examinations. This is how Republican Voodoo Economics has raped the American people and created this economic hurricane."
Bush's tax cuts, the largest in history, have failed to create jobs. Why? Simple. If you cut my business taxes, I have more money in the bank. But I only expand production and CREATE JOBS when people buy more of my product. Me having more money in the bank doesn't drive demand for my goods or services; it doesn't mean I sell more stuff. If my CUSTOMERS have more money in the bank (and in their paychecks), they can buy more of my product and I will need to increasae production and create jobs.
Their continued assertions that you "heat up the economy" through this failed trickle-down theory has to be met head on because people have heard it so much, for so long they think it's true.
My challenge to you: Have you attacked Voodoo Economics today? Have you said "that's trickle-down theory, and it doesn't work" to some sadly confused voter?
Do it! Do it!
