Nice distraction for Bush. Now the asshat can try to take credit and say we got the guy who planned 9/11 so they can claim success in the war on terror while still using OBL to keep this indefinite.

Not to mention this gets Libby and the current GOP scandals off the front page.

And put on your tinfoil hats, I'm not so sure they WANT to catch OBL. You can argue amongst yourself about the LIHOP/MIHOP theories but after the fact (and besides 9/11 altogether now) OBL has been the perfect catalyst to keep the money rolling and the war machine moving. They NEED OBL to justify their global view, their intrusion on your rights, their political power grab and any future use of force.

They know he's in Pakistan. They likely okayed his residence there when Osama and other al-Qaeda members were given what amounts to immunity in certain northern areas of the country.

They don't WANT to get him. Plain and simple. It would fuck up their grand plans.
