Choice 2: the GOP-controlled media STILL ignoring the aftermath of Ike

Choice 3: scientists theorize AIDS may have been around in 1908

Choice 4: Congress passes and shithead signs the $700 billion bailout

Choice 5: pirates seize a ship carrying 33 Russian tanks off the coast of Somalia

Choice 6: Japan's parliament elects a new Prime Minister

Choice 7: a special prosecutor is finally chosen to investigate the firing of the US Attorneys under the GOP DoJ

Choice 8: McCain exhibits facial ticks, still refuses to release medical records, the GOP-controlled media yawns

Choice 9: the vice presidential debate

9. Combine it with the Iranian ship taken by pirates
An Iranian ship was taken by pirates in farther north waters; something was on that ship that made their hair and fingernails fall out and made several gravely ill.

The gunrunners were trying to ship tanks and (probably) chemical weapons to the Powers That Be in the horn of Africa, but they were intercepted by the Powers That Will Be Soon. At the risk of vagueness, I can't overstate the importance of the horn of Africa to the next few decades.
