1. Isn't it true that we currently sell more oil to China than...
would be gained annually by the proposals for offshore drilling?

2. uh
Yes, Sen. McCain does support this. The chant is "drill, baby, drill." And that's what we hear all across this country in our rallies because people are so hungry for those domestic sources of energy to be tapped into.

Eventually that would probably be the case but hopefully we will be represented by people who will push for alternative clean energy sources like wind, solar, geothermal, tidal etc... which we can them start producing equipment cheaper and export that to help nations like China convert to clean energy as well.

3. Palin's ignorance about energy is stunning. Well, would have been stunning ...

If today by 5 pm we pulled every drop of oil from beneath the US, we would still not be independent of foreign oil. All the oil companies put it on the world market, and then we buy it back.

Palin also claimed that drilling, tapping natural gas, and clean coal were somehow consistent with her quest to see caps on CO2 emissions.

What a dolt.

4. Exactly - it goes on the world market, it doesn't stay here.

Even Boone Pickens said we're better off leaving our oil in the ground as long as we can - the longer, the more it's worth.

If we nationalize the oil companies, that would be different. Until then, drilling everywhere is nothing but stupid.

5. Bible Barbie's most laughable response of the night
was when she accused Biden of having no plan for energy independence when he'd just talked for a solid three minutes or so about developing alternative and renewable energy as a way to achieve independence from foreign oil sources.

It was then that I realized how totally brain dead that whole party is: if it doesn't involve oil, it's not an energy source.

We really need to send these people home for a period of education.
