3. blech
I wouldn't let my own mother, rest her soul--especially as she must be spinning in her grave over McCain/Palin--speak to me the way Palin spoke to me, a viewing public votin' guy, last night. Joe Six Pack indeed! Belies the Republican-neocon-eugenics perception of the Great Unwashed as bridled cattle. They certainly believe in IQ, and believe it is directly related to net worth$, good breeding, they think. She winked like a Hooters employee picking up a too-small tip. Their campaign is doomed by our youth, who will mop up the floor with their votes.

4. Palin also said "Say it ain't so Joe". It was obvious that she asked him if she could call him Joe
was strictly so she could say that line. :grr:

Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 12:23 PM by Not the Only One
It was very clever. You can tell that that's how she rose to power so quickly. I said "fuck you" to her when she said it (and I thought the same thing immediately, that she set him up), but I respected her craftiness.

5. "Say it ain't so, Joe!" she said.
Well, actually, she rushed the line so bad it sounded memorized. Which, of course, it was.

It subtley connects Joe Biden as a drinker.

of her party's disdain for "people like her." Strips us of our dignity, one sidestep away from "redneck." Remember Carly Fiorino's gaffe about rednecks?

11. good point
Sarah called HERSELF "Joe Six Pack"

Wouldn't think she'd want to use the name of her opponent wouldja, unless it's some kind of sick attempt at appropriation...

My English teacher told me there Ain't no such word as AIN'T. But skipping that and NUKUULOR, what was that crack about Joe's wife of 30 yers getting her "Reward"? Did hear wrong? Is that the meanist, cruelist attack on a person? This woman should die a slow death....you Betcha.

She got away with vicious and vacuous insults ... and Biden couldn't go there. Ridiculous.

15. You misunderstood...not hard to do with Palin, since she never really answers a question.
She was referring to his current wife being a teacher.

"I know education you are passionate about with your wife being a teacher for 30 years, and god bless her. Her reward is in heaven."

27. You are right...
It was about his current wife. I thought her remark was at least disingenuous. Republicans have been tearing down the public school system for decades and have no plan to do otherwise. They want vouchers so that their kids won't have to deal with "problem kids" meaning anyone not of their social class and skin color.

Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 12:01 PM by slampoet
Before the debate I defined the ABSOLUTE ZERO point for Palin as her not remembering that Biden's wife and child died and making that gaffe.

I saw that as the Worst Case Scenario......and here she is flirting with that just to try a rattle him.

It was sickening.

9. I watched on CNN with the sound on and with the sound off
and noticed a few things. Biden looked calm and cool as a cucumber. Palin was tense and often flustered. When Palin mentioned Magoo's name, the graph tracking her favorability took a dive. It happened every single time she mentioned him. As the debate wore on and on and on, her numbers tended to drift downward, as they did the longer she spoke in any one segment. Biden's numbers reflected what he was talking about, spikes for most items, dives for taxes.

The interesting poll to watch will come out Monday after people have had a day or two to digest what they saw and heard.

32. I noticed on the CNN graph that women did not seem to care much for Sarah.
Her ratings with them were just about always below the men. At one point she said something like, "Blah, blah, blah rape the planet blah, blah." The word "rape" caused the women to nosedive, though the men were unaffected. They also dove when she winked. So much for picking her because she'll appeal to other people with vaginas.

16. chris matthews last night
Did anyone else hear CM say last night post-debate that Palin "knew the questions" and then make a reference to a spelling bee? It was when Buchanan and E. Robinson were on a split screen commenting on the debate.

But then. if she really knew the questions, you think she would have actually answered one, wouldn't you?

After electing and then REelecting Idiot Son, we should up with an ever bigger moron.

It is in that sense that she makes ALL Americans look bad (on the world stage).

31. Amazing, this coming from Palin, who demands 'deference'
She has to be a couple of cans shy of that six-pack. She was at times disrespectful of Sen. Biden.

When she used the word "Doggoneit" she erased any last vestiges of credibility she thought to have had. She might as well have said dammit....
