Sarah said she agrees with Cheney last night
Gwen asked her at one point if she agreed with Dick Cheney about expanded VP power and Sarah at the end of her rambling said, "yes I do"

I have not seen anyone talk about this. I rewound it on my Tivo just to make sure and there it was! It was just before Joe said what a disaster Cheney has been as Veep.

I don't like posting without referencing something but I can't find it anywhere. Anyone else catch her say flat out that she in fact agreed with Dick Cheney?

That should be all over the web IMHO.

3. Yep, I caught that, one more scary thing coming out of this woman's mouth
She wants to expand the powers of the VP slot, nor does she think that the VP slot is really a part of the Executive branch, she's like Cheney in this, that the VP slot floats in some netherworld between legislative and executive:eyes: Just one more thing she's completely clueless on, the Constitution.

4. solidifies the notion about who really is prepping her empty head
for the second highest office of this land and it's the Neocons who are hell bent on endless war and unlimited executive power.

5. You heard right...should be an ad of its own.
IFILL: Governor, you mentioned a moment ago the constitution might give the vice president more power than it has in the past. Do you believe as Vice President Cheney does, that the Executive Branch does not hold complete sway over the office of the vice presidency, that it it is also a member of the Legislative Branch?

PALIN: Well, our founding fathers were very wise there in allowing through the Constitution much flexibility there in the office of the vice president. And we will do what is best for the American people in tapping into that position and ushering in an agenda that is supportive and cooperative with the president's agenda in that position. Yeah, so I do agree with him that we have a lot of flexibility in there, and we'll do what we have to do to administer very appropriately the plans that are needed for this nation. And it is my executive experience that is partly to be attributed to my pick as V.P. with McCain, not only as a governor, but earlier on as a mayor, as an oil and gas regulator, as a business owner. It is those years of experience on an executive level that will be put to good use in the White House also.

7. Yes she said it......
and the Obama campaign has to use it. Obama and Biden are so well versed in the constitution. They could wipe the floor with her on this one. Did you notice how scared she looked when she was called on it and when Biden gave his response?

said nothing about her resolute "yes I do" response to Gwens direct question of whether or not she agreed with Dick Cheney. I was waiting for him or Rachel or Kieth to point at that and noone did.

11. It sent a COLD CHILL down my spine
I also heard her say, "...we gotta do whatever we need to". This woman clearly does not realize that the Constitution's framers set up a government of limited powers, an executive who could not be a king, and a system of checks and balances, one ingredient of which is the vice-president's role as president of the Senate. Her response was a vague, rambling non-answer that displays to me an APPALLING ignorance of the VP's place in our system--a role she clearly has no business being in.

As a friend of mine said, "the difference between Sarah Palin and a turnip: the turnip is better-qualified to be VP."

Then we won't have the need for a President. "Don't ya know"

14. She talked about Palin wanting to expand power. Not one person
brought up her response to Gwen's direct question, do you agree with VP Cheney.
Sarah: Yes I do.

That soundbite is powerful and everyone missed it.

16. yes, this was the one really telling moment of the debate for Palin
She proved she could cram talking points and get them out in a folksy manner, but this one just ripped that whole mask off. She doesn't actually believe there's anything wrong with a two-headed government, a shadow president (if you will), and that she in fact expects such a role.

Now John McCain might have some admirable attributes, but holding fast to positions and principles is not one of them. He has taken any position that seemed politically expedient at the time. That sets him up to be used as a puppet by the more strong-willed Palin, or more likely, her advisors. Pretty much what we've had for 8 years already.

Fuck that, we need a real president who will take his VP off the shelf only occaisionally to get advice. No offense to Biden, I love him and I'm very glad he's the VP pick, but we don't need an empowered VP anymore.
