Biden proved he was a real person last night
Sarah showed she can memorize a script and apparently has no tear ducts, because I'll bet the rest of America cried when Joe Biden almost did.

1. He didn't have to
Joe has been a real person his whole life.

3. I know that and you know that
But he's been hardly given the "celebrity" treatment in the press like she has. Last night proved which one was a guy who works for the people and which was a political construct. As artificial as a yard sign.

8. No shit sherlock but sometimes that resonates with the electorate
When she talked about her family struggles she seemed completely devoid of emotion.

11. On second thought,
I a will agree with you. Hillary had to resort to tears, too, shoe the electorate she was human. Sad.

6. Joe Biden was wonderful
Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 06:48 AM by jpertello
He had command of the subject matter whether it was foreign policy, energy, the economy. He was dignified and did not take the bait. He went after John McCain, made valid point after valid point. He defended Barack Obama's positions and clarified when Palin spewed lies. He never once condescended or pandered to her. He was everything I hoped he'd be. Even though I wish he
could've just once said "By the way, it's Nu-CLE-Ar" I understand why he didn't. Because the media would have been all over that accusing him of gender bias, abuse, antifeminism, blahblah. Mika would've had a field day with it.

But no one is talking about Joe Biden today. They are all congratulating Ms. Mooseburger because she didn't crap herself or crawl off the stage.

7. Yea, Shadow. You and I and everybody here is comfortable with
Joe's tears. We know they can come at any moment. We're affected by them, of course. My daughter (works, busy schedule, little time for TV) called me right after the debate. "Mom, did you see Joe Biden almost cry? It brought tears to my own eyes." So you're right, Shadow, I believe the rest of America cried too.

9. Grandma Barracuda Was A Nervous Wreck...
I'm surprised no one has picked up on this. I was watching (having wide screen helps) and I could see how tense this lady was throughout the entire debate. There were times I could detect she was even shaking, a quiver in her voice...shifting around a lot and trying oh so hard not to mess up. Her TV training came in real handy, as Tweety noted, as she played to the camera and her answers were loaded with the buzzwords her "base" was hoping to hear. This debate was as much to shut up the knives in her own tent as it was to convince any of us, the media or even moderates that she's anywhere qualified to be a 72-year old heartbeat away from the most "powerful job in the world".

10. It reduced Palin's argument that she
is the only parent in government.
