How 'bout those new pennies?
To honor Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday next year the Fed is releasing 4 new pennies. The front will still feature a profile of lincoln, but the tails side will be stamped with one of four images. A new one will be released every three months beginning in February.

Putting aside the debate whether we even need pennies, I'm just hoping the government didn't find an imaginative new way to dispose of spent nuclear waste.

-------------------------------------------------

The first one is Lincoln's boyhood home represented by the log cabin he was born into. His humble roots is why he's not on the $20 dollar bill.

The second one will feature Lincoln the union worker, reading a magazine while he sits astride the timber he's supposed to be working on.

The third coin will show an image of Lincoln the lawyer standing before the old statehouse in Springfield where he unsuccessfully argued a case against a young Henry Ford over future use of his last name.

The last penny has an image of the US Capital building during the Civil War with the dome half completed, showing that even 200 years ago Republicans spent all our money on war, and couldn't get anything else done.

1. Log Cabin Republicans should love the first one.

4. Nothing against the designs, but was this really the time to redesign a basically worthless coin??
They're spending billions of dollars murdering half the planet, and they're about to give another $700 billion to the bastards who are profiting from the theft. How much money went into a "makeover" for a coin that already costs more than it's worth to make??
