Why I now hate Sarah Palin
Before, I just thought she was incompetent, incurious, unintelligent, and a terrible mother. Dangerous as the VP candidate. But now . . .

Palin: "But it wasn't just that experience tapped into, it was my connection to the heartland of America. Being a mom, one very concerned about a son in the war, about a special needs child, about kids heading off to college, how are we going to pay those tuition bills? About times and Todd and our marriage in our past where we didn't have health insurance and we know what other Americans are going through as they sit around the kitchen table and try to figure out how are they going to pay out-of-pocket for health care? We've been there also so that connection was important."

Implying Biden wouldn't have that connection? How dare? How dare she? Ignorance is no excuse.

8. Patronizing is one thing,
the door she opened with that implication was below the belt. When Senator Biden mentioned his son's deployment in Iraq, he included McCain's time in the military. But for Palin to say in this format that she's faced these "true American problems" at the exclusion of Biden. Given Biden's past . . . I now despise her.

37. He set her straight. It ended up in his favor
He also included her as a concerned parent with a son deploying to Iraq. He was a class act and she was a pugnacious test cramming pitbull trying to get him to lose it and attack her so they could scream sexism. It didn't happen. He obviously saw it for what it is and just relied on his experience and knowledge. She has none of these.

9. Before the debate,
I thought we might see Palin in tears and it would not shed in her in a good light. Well, there were almost tears and they did not shed her in a good light, but they weren't her tears.

36. It was like she wasn't even listening.
I thought she was a 'sympathetic' being? A mother not reacting to that? :wtf:

Every now and then, I began to feel sorry for her as a human being, being in over her head and such. Then I remembered some of her stances and it went away.

Now, I will never feel sorry for her again.

instead of a cynical tax credit paid for by taxes on company health plans, which does not begin replace the company health care plans that are lost in his scheme! You should hate her for her hypocrisy and cynicism.

25. And Biden got her on that one, absolutely.
When Palin talked about the McCain's proposal that families use a $5,000 tax credit to purchase health care (Yeah, I know; on what planet will $5,000 get a family adequate coverage?), here's what Biden said in response:

You know how John McCain pays for his $5,000 tax credit you're going to get, a family will get? He taxes as income every one of you out there, every one of you listening who has a health care plan through your employer. That's how he raises $3.6 trillion on your -- taxing your health care benefit, to give you a $5,000 plan, which, his website points out, will go straight to the insurance company. And then you're going to have to replace a $12,000 -- that's the average cost of the plan you get through your employer; it costs $12,000 -- you're going to have to pay -- replace $12,000 plan, because 20 million of you are going to be dropped. Twenty million of you will be dropped. So you're going to have to place -- replace a $12,000 plan with a $5,000 check you've just given to the insurance company. I call that the ultimate Bridge to Nowhere.

7. I agree
That was a low blow to Biden and to all the hardworking families who do not have money to afford a decent health care because of them. Because they have successfully have left us without any choice to afford a decent one.

She is Evil and I hate her for that. Now, it is up to us to educate those that might think she did well when in reality she didn't. It is up to us to let them know that what she promised were just empty words because their party has done totally the opposite as to what the things she said.

10. I found that equally offensive
but typical for the GOP who want to own gawd, Mom and apple pie while simultaneously acting against the teachings of Christ, making sure Mom gets paid less than she's worth at her job and ensuring none of us can afford the damn pie or any piece of it.

I did spend some time with the sound off. Palin was tense, Biden mostly relaxed although from time to time I could tell both he and Ifill wanted to slap Palin. I also watched the graph on CNN quite a bit and noticed every time Palin mentioned Magoo, it took a dive.

As time wore on, Palin's voice seemed to wear, too, because her average graph level rolled off.

Still, although she lied she didn't make any outrageous blunders and stuck mostly to canned speeches and kept the rambling to a minimum. I'd give her a B-.

So what would you have done if you'd had a medical problem that would have broken your bank? What if one of you had gotten a 'pre-existing condition' before you got your healthcare back?

She's given us the ammo,
C'mon Barack, don't keep that powder dry.

27. She demonstrated total self-absorbtion ... if it NOT about her, it's meaningless.
She's just another sociopath UNABLE to connect to the problems and suffering of others. Even in running through this litany, she demonstrated she was SOLELY focused on HER difficulties, as minor as they are compared to those others face. This is NOT empathy. It's a facade.

To say that she's experienced difficulties DOES NOT mean (let alone 'prove') she has either empathy or comprehension of the difficulties others confront. Indeed, in a typical run-of-the-mill conservative it's "I pulled myself up by the bootstraps and so SHOULD YOU!" (Never mind that it's a lie.)

39. That baby of hers is going to wear out the way she uses him
He's a prop to her. Did anyone else find it very odd that the VP candidate would snatch the baby up on stage right after the debate because she knew the cameras were still on? Does anyone think a baby should be constantly dragged on stage as a photo op prop? She uses that baby and hands it off to one of her daughters as soon as she's sure enough photos have been taken. Never to the her husband, the supposed father of the child.
