Great story while voting today

I live in Des Moines, IA, we are as blue as midnight (as someone responded to me yesterday). I had the afternoon off so I thought I would go vote. It was 1:30pm and a beautiful fall afternoon. There were about 8 people in this little office to vote. We all filled out our forms and it was very systematic. I was standing in my booth voting OBAMA on my ticket and this old guy walked in, maybe around 70 years old (sorry to any 70 year old and older out here, I'm 50 so take no offense...LOL) but he walks in and goes up to the counter and say real loud, "I'm here to vote, voting for Obama." Everyone in the room including the staff started laughing. It was the best vibe I have had with a group of people, besides seeing Obama in person here, and it simply made my afternoon. I know everyone of those people in the room and the ones that were walking in and out, were voting Obama....if you can vote early do it. And thanks to the little old man today that made my day. Way to speak what we were all feeling.

7. My Saturday

There was a nice lady outside the grocery store with a "Democrats, register here" sign. I overheard her tell someone she'd register anyone, but clearly, she was interested in Dems. As I'm already registered, I couldn't ask her to do that for me. So, I bought her some cookies in the store and gave them to her on the way out. She loved it and gave me a bottle of "Obama water." It was bottled water that she'd put an Obama/Biden sticker on.

Probably she won't make much difference in CA, as Obama will take our state anyway, but she made my day.

8. It's great that they feel they can finally speak

it's like you see a little spark of rebelious coming out in people, and not in a bad way, like in a unified way. It makes me smile during these shitty times.
