Credo Just Says No to Bailout--Sign the Petition!
Subject: We need a progressive alternative to the Bush Bailout.

Dear Friend,

Members of the House of Representatives did the right thing on September 29th when they voted down the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. That bill was a sham of a compromise that handed the Bush Administration all kinds of victories. Now it's time for a new bill, and a better bill.

Unfortunately, the Senate just passed a slightly modified version of that same bill. Since only a third of them are up for reelection this year, they have the political cover to hand the Bush Administration a blank check and wash their hands of it. By passing this near-clone of the bill the House defeated on Monday, the Senate is taking a strong stand for the Bush Administration and daring the House to vote down the bill and look like petty contrarians for doing so.

But there is another option: the No Bailout Act. Reps. Peter DeFazio, Donna Edwards and Marcy Kaptur, among others, have proposed this bill as a progressive alternative to the Paulson plan. The bill isn't perfect, but it's better than what we've seen so far. The House deserves a chance to vote on it.

I just signed a petition telling Rep. DeFazio that I support his fight for a progressive alternative to the Bush Bailout -- I hope you will too.

Please have a look and take action.

Thanks!

1. I just found out about them.
I got something in the mail. They were offering their cell phone service.

I am considering it. Do you have any knowledge on how their service is, I have been with Cingular, now ATT for about 4 or 5 years.

3. Been with them as a land line customer since about 1991
And as soon as our contracts are up, we are switching our cell phones. They use Sprint's hardware.

Love them love them love them.

7. You got to be kidding that piece of crap
is a slightly modified version of the same bill! The original bill was 3 pages now it is over 400 pages with every kind of pork imaginable. I think every f-----g Senator that voted for the damn thing should be kicked the hell out office and sent back to where they come from. What do want them to do take it back and add another 400 pages of pork on the damn thing. They were reading some of the crap from this bill on the radio this afternoon subsidies and protections for wooden arrow manufacturers, rum distillers, some crap about subsidies or protections for American Samoa etc. This thing is ridiculous that is why Congress has a 10% approval rating. Every single Senator had some kind of crap added to the damn thing. We would have better off if they just voted Pulson's original bill in. Obama and McCain are both campaigning against this very thing and they (both) voted for it.

No, we would not have been better off with Bush-is-God-so-give-him-the-money-for-his-friends'-golden-parachutes-wah-wah Paulson bill.

11. Well I am sick of this crap, they could have added a few
things on it to protect the taxpayers and got rid of the golden parachutes. But NOOOO they add more tax cuts and 400 pages of BS to the damn thing. Did they get rid of the golden parachutes, no not from what I have heard. I would like to give the whole damn bunch a golden shower.
