My dad, a moderate conservative who often crosses party lines at the state and local levels, but never at the federal level, has finally cracked.
I'd like to thank Palin and her religious nuttery for that, she really made my job easy.
I can't quite get dad to vote for Obama (still got 30+ days to work though), but that's one vote McCain is no longer getting. Dad says he will now vote for Barr, assuming he's on the ballot in Texas or either no one or Obama if Barr is not on the ballot in Texas. Dad is an "old school" conservative who like small government, low taxes and to pretty much be left alone and realises that his politics no longer really match the neo-con agenda, but he's 62 and somewhat set in his ways. Still, getting him to reject McCain (and really, while he was okay with McCain, Palin has pushed him too far with the religion stuff) is a pretty big deal, even if he is only one voter.
Keep working on them people...we're winning!
