My wife was wishing she could give Biden advice for the debate tonight
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 01:50 PM by redirish28
I asked her what kind advice she would give and she said:

"I'd say: Joe, DO NOT in any terms be react to Palin's responses like the majority of us will respond when hearing her responses. WITH Laughing on the floor. And Screaming YOU NITWIT!!!! ALSO PLEASE do not use BIG WORDS!!! what is going to happen is that Some Americans will not know those words and they will start sympathizing with Sarah and imaging themselves standing in that debate and that is going to be the worse thing that could happen".

She also believes this is how Bush kept winning the debates over Gore in 2000.

If you could give Biden advice tonight what would it be?

3. Leave the sarcasm to her. No smirking, rolling of the eyes, ect. Thst's what she's
going to do and the public will not like it. She's nothing but a smartass and it will soon become obvious that's all she's got.

10. Exactly!
Let her be the smartass who has nothing of substance to say. Let Biden be the intelligent, well-informed grown-up.

5. I say speak to the American people primarily - and dont let Palin go unchecked.
If he doesn't respond, they will say he is scared of confronting Palin on the issues and points she raised whether they have merits or not.

On the other hand, if he comes across too confrontational to the shit she spews from her mouth, then he will get lambasted for being rough on Sarah.

Honestly, I would rather run the risk of the second being true than I would be branded as indecisive or scared. This election is about leadership and being decisive, making tough decisions. I think there's a fine line that Biden can walk between the two and I'm sure he's practiced well in advance of this. I've got faith in him.

11. Then they'd call it "gotcha"
The immediate gains (and laughter) would not be worth it, for Biden.

8. Take a deep breath before you respond to anything she says.
As your wife said, I'm sure his initial reaction to her bullsh*t will be to laugh, ridicule or simply say, "WTF???"

So Joe ... take a deep breath, remember who it is you're dealing with and THEN respond. Don't waste your time going after her. People aren't stupid - most will see her for what she is and the rest probably weren't going to vote for you anyway. Stick to the issues and go after McCain's weaknesses.

14. If she brings up Obamas earmarks, he should point out her states earmarks.
More per capita than any other. I say he should come with some un prepared for question of McCain/Palin. He should illustrate their differences, oh and he must point out how she laughed at the idea of being a community organizer, how elitist.

19. If she brings up earmarks, he should have a "Freudian slip"
Say "Here's my position on ear pieces, uh, I mean earmarks ... "

(Palin's hair is covering both ears today. Never seen that before. Hmmmmm .... :eyes:)

23. Thats a good one.
I think there should be a pre debate pat down, ever since Bush got away with it in 2004. Oh but thats sexist Im sure women are more honorable than men, those delicate little flowers should have to be held to the same standards or rules of the mean men.

Showing contempt for the opponent is frequently received by the audience as contempt for them.

21. My advice....grind her to the ground. Embarass the shit out of her.
Make people supporting her feel like the stupid shits they are. I want to see him burn her to the fucking ground, and piss on the ashes. I don't want the words "I agree with Governer Palin.." to escape his mouth, like they did Obamas. I want her beat so bad, that McCain has a fucking heart attack.
