Michael Bloomberg, who once called attempts to end term limits "disgusting".......
now wants to end term limits so he can run again.

from Democracy Now!:

Bloomberg to Seek 3rd Term

Here in New York, Mayor Michael Bloomberg is expected to announce today he plans to run for a third term. Bloomberg will propose City Council do away with its fifteen-year rule limiting elected leaders to two four-year terms. He’s expected to argue the current financial crisis on Wall Street requires his continued leadership in City Hall. Bloomberg once decried efforts to undo term limits, at one point calling them “disgusting.”

3. Well, it didn't go over well when Guiliani suggested it
I doubt it will go over well now with Bloomberg, although I guess it's good that he is asking for a legislative change that would legalize it rather than try to stay in power by other extra-legal means. OTOH some people might smell the hypocrisy and not go for a change in the law that doesn't allow for a referendum.
