Just look at the size of the crowds Obama draws.

Compare this to the sparse showing of twenty percenters McLame usually gets.

This plainly says loud and clear America is ready for a change.

1. C-Span broadcast a live speech from McCain yesterday ...
I do not recall where he was and there was no swing shot to show the crowd but by the background noise it seemed like he was speaking to a half-empth room. My wife commented that it looked and sounded like he was speaking at a funeral, and the funeral of someone who had few friends.

3. I heard McPOW saying that he was drawing
crowds of 20,000 - I was choking with laughter. That man is a pathological LIAR.

5. just to be devil's advocate: republicans are traditionally NOT rally-attenders
to the same degree democrats are.

you can't NECESSARILY take this as an accurate analysis of voter turnout (referring to mccains turnout)

Low public participation but private actions in a voting booth are traditionally consistent for repubs

6. I was there, it was a madhouse
in a very good way. 15k instead of the expected 5k. Cold but motivated crowd. Very hard to see him unless you got there at 6AM for the 10AM start but well worth the effort.

10. so DID Palin or McCain or whoever REALLY draw 60,000 @ that rally in Florida?
This was being discussed last week, but I never found out if it was true or just their perpetual exaggeration.

Was with old friends this weekend and one of the guys was chuckling about Sarah's big crowd...as if that was sealing the deal on this election..
I had to laugh at his little nudge nudge wink wink comments, like "I KNOW everyone at this table is voting for McCain because I am" because he had not yet seen my car and had conveniently forgotten that I was always a Democrat. Despite being a generally good guy and quite a bit of fun, he did have this arrogant streak that he never grew out of.

LOL he even asked the table if we thought history would be kinder to George Bush after some time had passed. I nearly choked on my tea. (His wife was my roommate and best friend for the whole time we were in college; she and I always held opposite political views and just didn't talk about it much.) She did remember eventually, but I just had to let him run on and laugh. I did say "Worst president ever, I don't think so!"

he also ran off into a tirade about Obama being against school choice but putting his kids in private schools. I just mentally let my jaw drop on that one. Too much wasted energy to argue when the focus of the weekend was a reunion.

By the way we had fun, it was a college reunion and for the most part we were catching up on kids, jobs, other friends/sorority sisters who did not attend, etc.
