.... or equivocated about it, and look what happened? It's a total non-event, non-story, non-starter now.

Lesson to Dems: See what happens when you stand your ground?

8. Yeah, but they'd vote
against Obama whether or not he apologized.

Good on him to stand his ground.

9. It doesn't resonate with anybody...in fact, it was the campaign misstep
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 08:29 AM by alcibiades_mystery
that started McCain on the road to ruin. Many people here said it at the time: this makes McCain look like a fool and a liar. And that's precisely what it did. The Lipstick on a Pig statement was one of Obama's greatest traps of the entire cycle. He set it up for the little imbeciles, and they stepped right into it. They've been sliding down precipitously in the polls ever since.

14. ahhh... this is like so many of the primary comments
extremely thin on rationale or substance

... exuberance is good though I suppose... as long it's not "from the other side" right?

2. Yes, for once.
It drives me crazy how not only do repukes constantly whine and ask for apologies, the Dems COMPLY. Fuck them if their little feelings are hurt. If you can't stand the heat, then don't sling the mud.
:P

(Mixed metaphor in honor of Dubya).

10. KO had video right after that of McLame using the same phrase ....

... on at least four different occasions previous to that. And his audiences really yucked it up when he said those words too.

I think the Obama campaign should have aired some spots with McLame's own words to counter their hypocritical indignation.
