I Thought Palin Was A Pit-Bull.
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 07:28 AM by jayfish
What's with all the talk of Joe Biden having to wear kid gloves during the debate. ...that he does not want to appear condescending toward Palin? The whole idea in and of itself seems condescending and a bit sexist to me. My other question is if the going does get though for the bull, is she going to play the good little victim or is she going to be the dog that she claims to be.

1. To give Sarah Palin credit (and I REALLY don't like to)...
She never seems to back off even when she is in WAY over her head. She appears to just brazen through and smile bigger. I haven't seen her play the victim yet.

4. Which will make tonight's debate even more entertaining
than I thought. My husband, when reminded of the debate tonight, said, "It's good to know comedy in politics is not dead."

5. That is not necessarily a good trait
She just keep digging deeper and deeper

One must be able to know when they are in too deep and back off until you get the correct information.

Stop digging! I concur with your assessment of her.

6. That's a good point
In that regard, she's got that same idiot-drone rhetorical style as our current idiot-drone leader.

7. That's because she doesn't know she's in over her head.
And I give no credit for utterly clueless obstinance.

9. I Agree.
I also think it could get her in trouble. When she quipped that her opponent, during the Alaska gubernatorial debate, was being condescending people at the time may have thought that it showed her toughness and tenacity. Looking back at her interviews over the last month it looks to me like she was being called out for the same thing she is doing now. ...not answering the damn question. I don't think that's going to fly these days.

3. Well, two thoughts on that
1. Gore and Kerry were both criticized (and lost points among Stupid America) for appearing "too aggressive" when they went more than halfway across the stage for the handshake. If Biden wipes the floor with her, of if Ifill lets her wipe the floor with herself, then Palin will be cast as the victim of blind-siding.

2. To Conservatives, women can only be either victims or whores. I'll let you decide which she's to be in this case.

10. That Was Something Wasn't It?
The big bad Shrub being bullied by two wimpy, hand-wringing, liberals. The "librul" media just kills me sometimes.

13. IIRC, Gore was even criticized for "leaning in too much"
He might have done the ol' grip-the-forearm bit when he shook poor Dubya's hand, too. Outrageous!

8. Any criticism will by Biden will be UNFAIR! Just like reals questions by Ifil
The Dems are on board with warnings that "Sarah never answers questions."

I hope Biden can kick that one down the road with a Reaganesque "There she goes again!"

15. It's funny...
She NEVER answers the question!
Here's how it goes:

1. Question asked.
2. Two seconds of blank stare.
3. Eyes blink as brain searches for canned message.
4. Mouth forms smile and begins speaking...on and on...
5. Interviewer is momentarily confused, then realizes the answer is BS and considers a follow-up to nail it down. If interviewer is employed by Fox, question was never asked and there is no problem.

11. she's a Pit-Poodle. I'm glad that Gwen Ifill is moderating to avoid "sexist" arguments
Biden will be a professional and politely give her enough room to hang herself.

17. Would Putin play with kid gloves?
I'm not sure Joe Biden by his very nature is capable of it. He'll speak the truth, plainly and candidly and that's what's great about him. He'll get blamed by the media for being a bully anyway so he might as well open up on her.
