I need to buy a grease gun.

My family has a farm, and a John Deere tractor. It needs greasing and our old grease gun just fell apart. So tonight I went looking to buy a new grease gun. Damn if I can't find one that is not Made in China and Looks Like Junk. If I buy one of these I doubt if it makes it through more than one or two tubes of grease. But I can't find one anywhere that is not Made in China.

The other day I bought some Danish Butter Cookies. I opened the can and ate one. Damn it tasted bad. Then I looked at the can -- "Danish" Cookies but Made in China (and probably full of Melamine.) They are going back to the store.

Not long ago I bought a pair of Monet earrings (upscale brand of costume jewelry.) I've have had some older Monet products for decades and they still look great, but the finish on this pair of earrings is wearing off in a few wearings. I kept the card they came on, and guess what -- Made in China.

Is EVERYTHING made in China?
Do the Chinese have NO pride in what they make?

And do WE have no pride left anymore, just greed that allows us to sell toxic junk bought from China to our fellow dumbass Americans while we give the Makers in China IOUs that are selling our future down the river??

1. Yes, China owns us one way or another.
First they buy up our debt and then through companies like Walmart they sell us crappy goods.

2. As international trade maneuverings go...
...China has checkmated us over and over and over again. They now pretty much own us.

7. That's how I felt last Christmas when I went looking for toys for the grandkid...
I could not find anything that was not made in the PRC. Finally I did find some wooden puzzles at Macy's that were made in the US, but that's not enough. We ended up buying the little guy a Schwinn tricycle from Costco -- Made In China.

A year ago was when I went through Costco reading country of origin labels with the sick realization that WE don't "make stuff" any more.

But Danish Butter Cookies? Ew.

8. Plews/Lubrimatic makes grease guns in the USA

I don't know how good they are, but they are sold at amazon.com and Arizona Tools. The most popular for automotive, truck or tractor use seems to be a 14oz. pistol grip style.

edit: typo in name corrected

9. Short of making everything ourselves, it'd be hard to not to buy anything made in China.

Of course, good luck finding all the supplies to do so - probably made in China, too. It's frustrating.
