I seldom talk about the primary here, but I mentioned that some folks here need to mend fences with Dean, some national Dem leaders need to as well.

He agreed, and he said many others were upset at how he was treated. I was glad I asked. We don't see many Dems locally anymore since me and my big mouth spoke out.

I'm betting that the RNC is now waiting to see how Palin does. I'll guess that if they don't see significant poll movement their way by Monday, 10/6, they'll start quietly shifting spending into the battleground Senate races (MI, NH, AK, NC, OR) and try to salvage what they can in the House. While the WH is not a lost cause for them yet, the writing on the wall is getting clearer. At some point, they have to consider the likelihood of losing the WH, and (if they do nothing to prevent it) losing so many seats in congress that even a "Contract With America II" in '10 won't be enough to win either house back.
