Levin , who is running this year voted yes--Dino Debbie who is four
years away voted no. I would have thought just the opposite for the Michigan Senators.

1. I was a bit surprised, too
Sandy Levin (my rep) voted yes in the House.

2. Carl voted yes? JFC!
Clueless. I'll refrain from mention of Hillary.

3. It's a delicate balance
It all depends on the individual Senator's obligation to their constituents and their future campaign contibutors.

Stabenow can vote her conscience. Levin has influence and can fight for his decision.

4. Does Levin have a credible challenger
to his seat? Don't know who it is if there is one. My rep voted no. He has a credible challenger. I'm bewildered, still trying to come up with $700 billion in late trailer payments...that's a whole heaping helping of aluminum siding and tie downs! I'm with Baldwin, give some of that loot to folk like me, start at the bottom and let it trickle up, change I can get behind.

5. Levin could have survived a yes or no vote--I wish it had been no.

6. I'm torn on this baitout...
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 09:28 PM by BreatheOnMe
Part of me wants to say "screw wall street....let them fix their own mess." Another part of me wants to help so the economy doesn't get worse. So it's hard for me to be happy or angry with either Senator. They both voted against the Iraq war and against FISA so I'm supportive of both Senators, for the most part. I probably would've voted no on the bailout since I'm bothered by where they're getting the number 700 billion from.
