"With America's future in jeopardy..." comments about the Wall Street Bailout
With America's future in jeopardy, have you noticed there is no time to read, think about and discuss the Wall Street Bailout, one of the most important bills ever to go before Congress.

In fact none of us have even seen the bill, we just hear about its bullet points. I suspect few, if any Congressmen and women and Senators have seen it either, as according to The Wall Street Journal, it's being written by financial industry lobbyists. And the devil will be in the details.

Most people wouldn't buy a car this way, a computer or even household appliances. Yet we as a nation are rushing to make one of the most important decisions we will ever make, one that also has a major Constitutional shift in budgetary powers to the executive branch, and we're doing it blind, putting our trust in those who caused these massive problems to somehow fix them.

note: this was emailed to me by my friend Dick Kazan, who has been rather prescient in his warnings about the financial crisis.
here are a few links to his articles over the past 10 months, on how to protect yourself:

2. Easy choice
"No. Absolutely not. Fuck no!"

$700 Billion that Paulson refuses to tell us what he's spending on? I'll pass.

5. Yeah, it's so far beyond the Paulson plan that everyone admits it's barely changed
And as another DUer pointed out, Bush has his signing statement in reserve. This was a BAD MOVE.
