Link to new Senate Bailout Bill; Subbed for Mental Health/Substance abuse bill

Here's a link for the new Senate bailout bill.

Send me an email address via PM if it doesn't work for you and I'll send you a copy of this 451 page pdf (around 700K) by personal email. Quiz in the morning.

Hopefully the Senate debate will exceed 3 hours since it will take that amount of time or longer to read it well. No amendments? No problem!

Note the original title and the new title (from the very last page)

ORIGINAL TITLE:
To amend section 712 of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, section 2705 of the Public Health Service Act, section 9812 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to require equity in the provision of mental health and substance-related disorder benefits under group health plans, to prohibit discrimination on the basis of genetic information with respect to health insurance and employment, and for other purposes.

The bolded section above I can support, if it's still left in the bill, provided we all recognize that Equity requires that the House and Senate should both be more fully covered and have a better group plan in this area than average Americans. (They have higher crime rates, etc., than average Americans)

NEW TITLE:
Amend the title so as to read: ''To provide authority for the Federal Government to purchase and insure certain
types of troubled assets for the purposes of providing
stability to and preventing disruption in the economy and
financial system and protecting taxpayers, to amend the
Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide incentives for
energy production and conservation, to extend certain expiring provisions, to provide individual income tax relief, and for other purposes''.
